“I get a great deal of satisfaction in presenting arguments that overcome a rejection.”
Diana DiBerardino | Owner/Partner, Patent Attorney
Diana DiBerardino is a registered patent attorney and cofounder/managing partner of DiBerardino McGovern IP Group LLC (DMIP Group). Diana helps U.S. and foreign clients protect their intellectual property rights related to physics, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering.
When Diana decided to partner with Meghan McGovern forming DMIP Group, they decided to create a non-traditional, highly specialized firm; one in which clients appreciate their responsiveness and technical excellence. Diana finds great satisfaction in helping her clients get their patent applications approved, especially when she has argued their validity.
Prior to DMIP Group, Diana worked for Fish & Richardson in Washington DC for ten years, where she prepared and prosecuted patent applications for: optics, imaging systems, laser systems, toys and games, software, power systems, electronics, business methods, and medical and mechanical devices. She also worked on patent clearance and freedom-to-operate analyses, non-infringement and invalidity analyses, and pre-suit due diligence.
Outside of work, Diana volunteers at her local dog shelter and fosters shelter dogs. She also enjoys photography, especially during her travels and local exploration. Her images have been featured in the local Mt. Lebanon Magazine. In 2014, her research and photography efforts helped to designate Mt. Lebanon as a National Register Historic District. She also enjoys walking, word puzzles, traveling, architecture and retro designs.
Diana is an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, American Bar Association, and American Intellectual Property Law Association. She supports clients worldwide out of her office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
